Clapham girl

Clapham's girl about town updates you on her latest antics...

This new year, as with every one, I thought January would be quie after the busy work schedule, multiple boozy nights out and the "final" New Years Eve bash before the detox and exercise is meant to start. Contrary to that, January has probably been one of my busiest months but also one of the most scandalous too! Amongst my usual Clapham nights out, I have rediscovered my love for B@1 (due to the good looking bartender and their 2 4 1 drinks), and to be honest that is where I have been found most Sunday nights propping up the bar and drinking a disgusting amount of Jaeger. This is usually with my flatmate, who hates me every Monday when he has to go to work and I stay in bed! Not only that, I have found a new well known transatlantic love interest...

The love interest in question, lets call him Mr NYC, is a notorious womanizer on and off screen renowned for breaking his on/off girlfriend's heart on several occasions before finally marrying her. Anyway, he came to my work this month. From the moment he walked in and put his hand on my arm to ask for directions, I knew that I was in trouble. He was a smooth talker, drank whisky and didn't care who was looking. He was confident but polite, not to mention utterly gorgeous and the more we spoke, the more I realised that I wasn't the only one that felt the sexual tension lingering.

Unfortunately, his week-long stay in London was coming to an end and despite a week of flirtatious exchanges, I wasn't really sure how it was going to end. Of course the general rule of thumb is not to get involved with clients, but somehow everyone always does and your place of work turns into something that resembles a Frat house or airline crew.

On the morning of his departure, his frenzied PA cornered me and handed me an envelope, frantically explaining the consequences of having any sort of dealings with someone so much in the public light. She said that Mr NYC had had to leave earlier than expected but wanted to give me this and she would be in touch. My excitement was replaced with a slight disappointment that MR NYC had just gone, until I opened the envelope where a return ticket and travel itinerary fell out with a post it note saying "See you in New York". Needless to say I shall definitely be heading to New York next month!

Since then, I'm sorry to say the men of Clapham have, maybe to their delight, been left alone. My usual crazy antics haven't been as prolific and I'm sure the value of Jaeger has diminished but I'm happy and excited for my little three day trip to the Big Apple. I feel slightly like Carrie in Sex And The City about to meet her love after so long, although maybe that's the irony of it... I'll keep you posted!
